FEATURED ADVERTISERS:   MISSIONS
If you are interested in joining a team of Catholic, Christian, Jewish, Mormon, or Baptist youths on a mission, then you will need to know how to find a church group that has plans that match your interests. Some of the religious groups take trips to far away destinations like Africa while others travel to California and other states in the U.S. When you contact the missionary group, you should ask them what religious organization they represent. You will probably find that many of them are Catholic, Jewish, Mormon, and Christian. Find out what types of actions they will be performing in foreign locations. Some of them are active in school, missionary, church, hospital, monastery, and other institution building. Others travel to global locations to teach languages like Spanish, or to give Spanish speakers the educations they need to communicate in other languages. These global trips to foreign lands are not only great for the poor and underdeveloped countries, they also give you the opportunity to learn historic lessons and tour areas of the world that you might not ever see otherwise. It is important for you to ask the church group what types of funding they have to help you pay for the trip. A world tour can be very expensive, so you will want to find a program that pays for some of your travel expenses if you cannot afford them on your own. Some churches have scholarship opportunities to help you pay your way so that you can perform missionary work all around the world.
The mission hopefully becomes viable meaning self-governing, self-supporting and self-propagating. Mormon missionaries might be one of the most active practitioners of missionary work. Usually young men between ages 19 and 26 might be strongly encouraged to go on a two-year mission, full-time proselyting. Elderly, retired couples, might serve a mission as well for 3 to 36 months. Mission stations integrate themselves into local communities for perhaps help those in need. Many missions may be sponsored by a church such as Christian and Mormons. Each church might plan their missions differently. Mission stations might be a location of missionary work. Christian missions might be based on the idea “to form a viable indigenous church-planting movement.” Missions might be motivated by enhancing God's reputation.
